The Right Arm of YHWH
The Tanakh repeatedly describes YHWH’s right hand as doing things that the New Testament attributes to Messiah.
YHWH’s right hand brings salvation
Psalm 98:1
“Sing to יהוה a new song! For He has done wonders; His right hand and His set-apart arm have brought Him deliverance.”
That combination is striking:
right hand + holy arm = salvation
Compare that with Y’shua, whose very name יהושע means YHWH saves / YHWH is salvation.
Isaiah 52:10
“יהוה shall lay bare His set-apart arm in the eyes of all the nations. And all the ends of the earth shall see the deliverance of our Elohim.”
Then immediately following this passage comes Isaiah 53.
And Isaiah 53 begins:
Isaiah 53:1
“Who has believed our report? And to whom was the arm of יהוה revealed?”
Then the “arm of YHWH” is described as a distinct object, which is not a separate entity or a co-equal person but an extension of Elohim Himself therefore He calls Moshiach, Elohim’s Son. Just like my arm is not a co-equal person with me. It is my arm, it belongs to me and I instruct it with my mind. The Son was fully Elohim but did not take advantage of privilege to use His power but suffered as a man for our sake.
Here are more examples of YHWH’s Right Hand/Right Arm:
Exodus 15:6
“Your right hand, O יהוה, has become great in power. Your right hand, O יהוה, has crushed the enemy.”
Exodus 15:12
“You stretched out Your right hand…”
Psalm 118:14–16
“Yah is my strength and song, and He has become my deliverance. The voice of rejoicing and deliverance is in the tents of the righteous;
The right hand of יהוה is doing mightily!
The right hand of יהוה is exalted,
The right hand of יהוה acts mightily.”
HalleluYah, what a Mighty One we serve!! In continuance, Y’shua is also referenced as our rock, the rock, and the chief cornerstone.
Psalm 118:22
“The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.”
Deuteronomy 32:31 LSB
““Indeed their rock is not like our Rock, Even our enemies themselves judge this.”
1 Samuel 2:2 LSB
““There is no one holy like Yahweh; Indeed, there is no one besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.”
Psalm 18:31 LSB
“For who is God, but Yahweh? And who is a rock, except our God,”
Psalm 95:1 LSB
“Oh come, let us sing for joy to Yahweh, Let us make a loud shout to the rock of our salvation.”
The next one is probably the strongest verse showing this divine revelation.
Psalm 80:14-15 KJV.
“Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: Look down from heaven, And behold, and visit this vine; And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, And the branch (Son) that thou madest strong for thyself.”
Psa 80:17-18, KJV
“Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself. So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.”
This One being referred to shares the Name of Yahweh, meaning the divine character, identity, and authority. For truly this is the Name of our Mighty One.
Many of us also see the Branch or the offshoot of Yishai (Jesse) to be in line with messianic prophecy. In the book of Revelation, Y’shua/ Jesus says that He’s not only the branch of David, but also the Root. HalleluYah. Remember this my friends, YHWH shares His Glory with splendor with The Ben Adam (Son of Man). Understand the parable of Moshiach. The ones with a heart filled with His Spirit will hear, all those being called into Glory.
