Frequently Asked Questions
Are you Jewish or Christian?
We are Torah-observant/Torah-pursuant followers of Y’shua, the Jewish-Hebraic Messiah. We honor the Scriptures from a Hebraic perspective, because the entire Bible is inspired by The Most High, The Holy One of Yisraél. Mosheh spoke with The Almighty face-to-face and recorded as instructed, Holy men wrote as they were moved by The Spirit. The Whole Bible is written by Holy, Covenanted men. The New Testament (Besuras HaGeulah) The Good News of Redemption, was written by Spirit-led Jewish men, in a Hebraic perspective, written by Jews, and for Jews first— and through them the whole world benefits from This Good News and Pure Teaching of Torah.
Why do you use the Name “Yeshua” instead of “Jesus”?
“Y’shua” is His original Hebrew name. It means Salvation/ Salvation of YAH. By using His Hebrew name we affirm the promises made in The Torah and The Prophets concerning The Messiah. We use His Hebrew name to honor and restore heritage, context, and His true character. Ha-Moshia ha-Y’hudí (The Jewish Savior).
“Where there is Grace, there is Mercy, we do not frown upon or turn away anyone for name pronunciation.”
Why do you keep Shabbat on the 7th day?
Simply put YHWH blessed, set-apart, and commanded His Followers to honor and guard the seventh day as a day of Shabbat/rest.
Lev 23:3 (TS2009) ‘Six days work is done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a set-apart gathering. You do no work, it is a Sabbath to יהוה in all your dwellings.
YHWH blessed It
Y’shua kept It
The apostles/emissaries kept Shabbat
The early believers kept Shabbat.
”We are simply Honoring what was established from the beginning.”
How do you consider yourself Torah-observant, but you don’t observe the Moedím/Biblical Feasts?
While my answer may surprise some, many believers are coming to this pivotal understanding that there are certain aspects/commands of Torah that we are unable to fulfill until Y’shua HaMoshiach The Messiah returns. The Torah clearly states that we as covenanted believers must go to the one place of worship. Now, even if you and I went hand-in-hand today, the priesthood and the Beis HaMiqdash/The Temple are not established. Yes, I say wait on YAH and love thy neighbor and focus on the things of Torah we can do. To love one another and have fellowship together, more and more as The Day of the Last Shofar/Trumpet comes upon us speedily.
We are working and prayerful to finish a very thorough teaching all about the Moedím/Biblical Feasts.
Do you follow the Talmud or Rabbinic Judaism?
While I respect Jewish history and have a genuine love for the Jewish people, my relatives, I follow:
Torah
Prophets
Writings
The teachings of Y’shua
The writings of the apostles/emissaries
What did Paul mean when stating we’re “not under the Law”?
We are not under the condemnation or penalty of the Law, and another interpretation is we are no longer under gezeira, minhag, or gezetz. In Judaism there are many laws that were placed on the Jewish people. Paul knew this better than anyone as he WAS a pharisee.
“ For if what I destroyed, these things I again rebuild, I display myself to be a poshei’a (transgressor). For I, through the Torah, died in relation to the gezetz so that I might live to YHWH.” With Moshiach I have been talui al haetz (hanging on the tree). Gal. 2:18-19 TOJB2011 by Philip Goble.
We are free from condemnation in the Belief, not free to sin in disobedience.. One must have a Hebraic, Spirit-filled Mindset to undertake what Paul is writing to us.
Why do you talk so much about Hebrew or Jewish context?
For those of you who have known me over the years, one of the most frequent things you’ve heard me say is,” Contextually speaking.” Y’shua came as both The Almighty but also as a Jewish man, the Son of David.
” And I say it again, The New Testament is a Jewish Book, written by Yahudím/Jews, For Yahudím/Jews first—and through them, the whole world benefits.”
