ONE ELOHIM-ONE NAME-ONE BAPTISM
Shalom brothers and my friends, peace beyond all understanding comfort your hearts. As I study Scripture on the fly, getting up early and running out the house with my wife’s homemade bread and a cup of coffee, and getting to work. I then sit down and do my verses of the day to stay connected with fellow believers. I love to study Scripture and I yearn to do it all the more as the Day of YAH becomes more and more imminent. Today I read this verse and The Spirit came to me. It was beautiful! Let’s get into it..
Matthew 28:19-20 (LSB) “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to keep all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Notice that Y’shua says,”in the Name” and not “in the Names.” It is singular. We serve one God O Yisraél.
Hear, O Yisra’ěl, YHWH our Elohim, YHWH is one!
And in the Spirit I was brought to another verse (I have spent much time in The Word so the Ruach (Spirit) recalls to mind the Word when I’m in study mode.
Colossians 1:19 (LSB) For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,
Colossians 2:8-9 (LSB) See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, and not according to Messiah (Christ). 9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells bodily,
Ephesians 3:19 (LSB) and to know the love of Messiah (Christ) which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
Here we see that all the fullness of the God bodily dwells in Y’shua The Messiah. In simple words God is complete in The Son. This makes sense because when the immersions (baptisms) were being recorded in the book of Acts of Apostle, the immersions were given in the name above all Names. My Teacher, The Rebbe from Galilee, you heard of Him. Y’shua my Master and My Elohim. Here are some verses to solidify; they are listed so you can look them up- Don't just take my word for it. Open the Scriptures and examine these passages for yourselves:
Acts 2:38
Acts 8:16
Acts 10:48
Acts 19:5
Acts 22:6
In all of these accounts the immersions that were given were given in the Name of Y’shua. Remember the fullness of Elohim dwells in Y’shua. Here is another spiritual connection:
Ephesians 4:4-6 (LSB) There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.
Shaul/Paul emphasizes One Master,one faith, and one immersion.
Acts 4:10-12 (TS2009) let it be known to all of you, and to all the people of Yisra’ěl, that in the Name of יהושע Messiah of Natsareth, whom you impaled, whom Elohim raised from the dead, by Him this one stands before you, healthy. 11 “This is ‘the stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief corner-stone.’ 12 “And there is no deliverance in anyone else, for there is no other Name under the heaven given among men by which we need to be saved.”
My friends,
I encourage you to search these Scriptures and consider how beautifully they connect. The Word is not divided against itself. When we allow Scripture to illuminate Scripture, we begin to see connections that we may have read past many times before.
All the fullness of Elohim dwells bodily in Y’shua HaMoshiach.
ONE Elohim. ONE Spirit. ONE Master. ONE faith. ONE immersion. And the Name above all names,
Y’shua HaMoshiach!
May YHWH continue to open our understanding as we search His Word and draw nearer to Him.
